     Said to occur naturally only on the central and northern coasts of Queensland, Australia, Eucalyptus Citriodora has now been developed in China for use as a highly effective insect repellent.

     Eucalyptus Citriodora is a colorless to pale-yellow essential oil that is steam-extracted from the twigs and leaves of the Eucalyptus Citriodora plant. Possessing a strong, very fresh, rosy-citronella-like odor, Eucalyptus Citriodora oil has an extraordinarily high native content of citronellal. This makes it highly attractive to soap makers as a base note for low-cost soap perfumes, soap flakes, detergents, sprays, etc.

     Eucalyptus Citriodora is proven nontoxic, and has been used to treat a wide range of maladies, including hypertension, asthma, rheumatism and even dandruff. As one might expect, Eucalyptus Citriodora is said to be best used in the summer, when its qualities as an excellent insect repellent can be fully appreciated.
The gum extract from the leaves yield a lemon-scented oil, rich in citronellal, and citronellol which is then blended with other herbal extracts to produce the active formula.

     Our Natural Insect Repellent effectively wards off biting insects. Derived from Eucalyptus citriodora grown in China, citronellal rebuffs mosquitoes and insects by confusing their sense of direction and stifling their appetite. It has long been used to fend off biting bugs, mostly in candle form, and is so safe it is recognized by the Food and Drug Administration for use as a flavoring in beverages, candy and baked goods.
